If you watch the movie, they are talking about the girl Ursula “mutated” into and how she’s “far better than any dream girl” but then Ariel is right there, she can’t talk but she’s there. Man. no, you’re wrong. grimsby was talking about ariel.  eric looks up at ariel and realizes that he should stop obsessing over the mysterious song, because he really likes ariel. so he throws his flute away AND THEN ursula/vanessa hypnotizes him by singing the very song he was obsessed with.
